🔗 Share this article The network's Premier Fresh Series of 2025 Secures a Significant Extension for Seasons 2 and 3. Last October, Adult Swim welcomed back its quirky hit, Smiling Friends. Yet, later that same month, the channel launched a completely new animated series with a strikingly different tone. Haha, You Clowns emerged as sweet and soothing, reminiscent of a animated take of a serene talk show. In an era often characterized by dark humor, this show's earnestness resonated deeply and propelled it a surprise hit. A Major Commitment In mid-December, the network confirmed a big renewal: Haha, You Clowns has been greenlit for two more seasons. This offers showrunner Joe Cappa ample opportunity to expand upon the world of the Campbell family. The series centers on three polite teenage brothers whose primary trait is their strong bond for their single father, with Cappa voicing for all four central characters. "I’m so grateful to the audience of the show who gave *Haha, You Clowns* a chance and helped it grow," stated Cappa. "It's thrilling that I get to hang out at the Campbell household for seasons to come." A President's Endorsement The official statement also included praise from Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen, who called the series as "profoundly sincere and uniquely eerie." He specifically highlighted the fans who embraced the show and advocated for its uniquely offbeat appeal. "All of you showed up for this new show, championed for it on social media, and grew it week over week so we could greenlight not one, but two more seasons," noted Ouweleen. "To quote: 'You are strong! You are loved!'" A Different Kind of Comedy Upon its debut, Haha, You Clowns was praised as "a wholesome alternative" to other adult animated fare. Viewers found something surprisingly comfy about observing this charming family go about their simple existence. At the time, creator Joe Cappa stated his hope to move the comedy genre beyond its current cynical streak. He linked this trend to a broader media landscape. “It feels like there's a default mode of irony that we can't get ourselves out of,” said Cappa. “It's like we have to know we’re the smartest person in the room when we're watching stuff. I feel like we've been doing this for a decade, and we must laugh at something different now. Comedy has to evolve.” Future Seasons Given this two-season order, with Haha, You Clowns locked in for the future, Cappa could potentially help usher in that change he described. If nothing else, the renewal ensures audiences additional episodes to experience the gentle humor of the beloved Campbell clan. The final episode of Season 1 of Haha, You Clowns will premiere on December 21st. The entire series is currently streaming on HBO Max.
