A Marquee Acquisition for the WSL Side The forward, with half a year left on her deal, has been a consistent goalscorer for her club and the national team. Having netted over 100 goals for the German giants and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for Germany. Her arrival will be seen as a marquee signing for the Women’s Super League side. Departure from Munich was expected since she appeared to be holding back emotions while thanking the German club’s supporters after a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently. It was reported in late December that the German women's top flight was set to lose one of its leading strikers. Per reports, the formalities for the move have now been completed. Reliable Goalscoring to Strengthen United's Attack The 28-year-old’s signing should represent a significant boost to United’s forward line. She has been highly reliable in front of goal in Germany’s top flight. Over seven consecutive seasons, up to and including the last term, she reached at least a double-figures tally of league goals. She won the top scorer award in the 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals. Gathering Momentum at Old Trafford The acquisition of Schüller’s signature comes at a time when United appear to be building momentum. Recent on-pitch successes feature securing a place in the European knockout phase playoffs as a seeded team and a win in the League Cup quarter-finals. In the transfer market, the mid-season window has seen further business: The signing of Sweden right-back Hanna Lundkvist on a three-and-a-half-year deal. The new deal for Japan playmaker Hinata Miyazawa, a fan favourite since joining in 2023.
