This describes the premise, in essence, of Stephen King’s novel It (a standout in his career; no debate). It parallels of King’s son Joe Hill’s recent chilling tome, in which a band of six invoke the age-old, utterly malevolent beast King Sorrow from the Endless Night to assist them in vanquishing some antagonists. As one might expect, their supernatural ritual goes awry.

Embracing a Authorial Heritage

The author began his writing journey striving diligently to remain separate from his renowned parent, adopting the nom de plume he still uses today and avoiding meeting his agent (he possesses a striking resemblance to his dad). Yet with this recent release, he fully acknowledges it. Several quotes that intentionally mirror some of his father’s iconic (“The man in black fled across the desert …”); a incident that evokes a recurring theme in King’s works (a game of puzzles). Throughout this massive book, the author rejoices in his family connection, and the audience revels alongside.

A standout transition was to a heroic journey, far beneath the surface beneath this UK region, a section sprinkled with JRR Tolkien that was wonderfully frightening.

An Expansive Canvas of Horror and Hope

The novel features trolls – the classic variety and internet antagonists, properly scary and perfectly brought to life. There are magical swords and treacheries, heart-stopping scenes of valor and scenes of appalling malevolence, both mortal and extraterrestrial. It stands as a masterpiece: a chilling book that is chiefly a tribute to the human inventiveness, and to love and friendship. “We needed a story to believe and {now we’ve got one|presently we possess it|currently we hold it,” says the wealthy student as the allies assemble around a surface, preparing to summon their serpent into existence with the strength of their collective will.
